Unreachable Hope

 Unreachable Hope

Sitting in the dark corner,

Hope of light burning in you

Far, but waiting for a closer look;

Hope to get out of dark,

Hope to be free to fly again,

Hope is just a lighted candle in dark.

Get up and catch the light,

Burn with the light;

But the fear is much deeper.

It is not simply cold or hot ;

What makes me a weeper,

Is the fear of loosing all I've got.

It's the fear of fear itself,

That keeps me up at night.

The fear of fear itself,

Is what keeps happiness out of my sight.

How much I try,

The light seems to be unreachable.

At some point I give up,

And like watching the hope of light

From the corner rather than chasing it...
