Lost Myself

 Lost Myself

I lost myself,
In my own world.
Where my thoughts
Are murders.
With unspoken words.
Where there’s a war
Going on
Between my body
And my soul.
Where I try to scream and shout
But there’s no way out.
I'm a mess right now,
My heart is in two places
Half is back at home
The other's off and racing.
I lost myself that night
When I couldn't recognise me.
But it was far too late
I feel the burden now.
It's weighing down my soul
And I can't catch my breath
Because these demons follow...

Many asked me once
What is the scariest part?
According to me, I answered;
The scariest part,
Wouldn't be the feeling of loneliness
Or darkness that fills me
Neither the looming pain
Of emptiness...

The scariest part,
Would be the realization
That I have lost myself
Completely;
And can’t recognize myself.
Sinking in as I lay awake
Till 3 am.
Because I have lost the ability to sleep,
And I can’t even cry,
Because I don’t know why...
